Anna Kharina

There’s some real talent coming out of Russia, I keep on coming across some amazing work such as Anna’s. Her portraits have a very delicate melancholy to them. Lots of different faces with slight differences in expression and emotion, and naturally, perfect use of the square format.

Tomorrow I’m off to Canada again for another year of studies, if any Montreal residents wanna meet up and chat (or show me work), just send a little word through the email ! patrick.caire[a]

Kirill Arsenjev

Kirill has some really beautiful captures in his relatively small flickr photostream. He uses several formats (6×6, 4×5, 8×10) to diversify his portraits and nudes. His pictures have a very peaceful vibrance to them, either because of the soft focus or his model’s soothing facial expression, most likely both.

lots more amazing work on his website

Back From Peru

So I’m back from Peru, after a month of volunteering in the second biggest city, Arequipa. It was an amazing experience and I encourage anybody with the motivation to go over there and give a hand. I worked through the organization “Traveller Not Tourist” which was started 2 years ago by a Peruvian and English couple. The project is constantly growing, its possible to either teach English in a little school in one of the slums or help kids in an orphanage. I thought I’de share some of the bw pictures I got around the school when I was there:
