Fantastic Drawings by Frank Magnotta

My oh my… Frank’s drawing really takes me somewhere else. He creates incredibly detailed little worlds that seem to stand alone in vast emptiness. But the inner parts of these worlds are far from empty. Frank mixes all sorts of cultural icons and influences into his gray scale pieces, he blend them in through typography and perfectly executed perspective.

I also find that the reliance on pencil to create such fantastic edifices gives an almost decadent feel to the drawings, as if these were the remains of some past world.

Make sure to check out an interview with Frank by HUH.
