Voodoo typography by Christophe Barneau

French graphic design student Christophe Barneau has a fascinating typography portfolio. It’s full of visual explorations into the occult and the mysterious. My favorite is his Voodoo type,

Voodoo is a 3 weeks work, searching pictograms, mixing geometrical shapes and tribal forms to finally get something unique. I kept this “naive” shape of the letters to intensify the tribal spirit of the font and the ornaments came from an Italian book called “Ditta Nebiolo & Comp” from 1901.
