Elle Muliarchyk (who’s photography we previously featured here) and Australian supermodel Abbey Lee have collaborated on 3 videos for a cult jewelry campaign Mania Mania.
These spectacularly colorful films were inspired by underground experimental filmmakers such as Kenneth Angers, Brion Gysin, William S, Borroughs, Maya Deren. They even built a huge kaleidoscope for Abbey to fit in.
These fabulous pictures were created by Elle Muliarchyk (photographer) and Lily Kwong (model) for TMag. Inspired by “Old Masters paintings” and David Lynch movies, these two artists captured beautiful, dark and obscure photographs.
Personally I’m a fan of David Lynch, and having watched lots of his work, I find this totally reminiscent of the shadowy, slightly concealed composition of his movies. Especially the way the colored lights are projected on Kwong, it gives the pictures great cinematographic feel.
It’s almost like scenes of Wild at Heart set in the Renaissance (not that I know anything about Old Masters paintings, unfortunately).
