With Halloween only a week away there is no better photography series to featured than Amy Stein’s excellent Halloween in Harlem. These photographs silently speak an enormous amount of words… I love the way these little characters full of life contrast with the blandness of their surroundings.
You know those old dusty pictures of yourself as a kid that seem to come up everytime you clean the house?
Or maybe they’re framed and hung all over your parents’ place.
In any case, Irina has a serious obsession over these kind of pictures. She had the idea of inviting her friends to reenact those pictures. All I can say is, the results are fantastic and hilarious. It’s amazing how perfectly she reproduced every detail of the old shots, especially the vintage tones.
