I love Phil Ashcroft’s incredibly sharp & precise style of painting in this series. His artworks seem to depict a surreal landscape being literally sliced through by chaotic, dark, and razor-edged shapes.

As one of the oldest Flickr contacts I’ve been following, and one of the first photographers to be featured on this blog – I can tell you it’s extremely rare for me to have come across such flawless work from anyone else. In the domain of nudes and portraits especially, Hannes Caspar captures dark lush tones while keeping a sharp focus on stunning details.
Back in 2009 when I first featured Hannes, I also praised the city he lives in: Berlin. In that sense this is also a timely feature, since I’m currently making arrangements to settle there for while – lift off in 10 days :)

Stunning images by Italian photographer Alessandro Mitola. It was difficult to choose which ones to post since Alessandro captures great portraits every-time, so I selected some very different images…
If you feel like there’s a similarity between a bunch of different photos from the same portfolio, but you can’t pin-point what it is exactly, then you’ve found a great photographer.
